SONNI BERSAMINA, LM, CPM
After receiving a 'spiritual download' at age 16, Sonni knew she would become a midwife in her 30s, and after she had her own children.
On Maui, Sonni had a cesarean birth with her firstborn, as she did not have a provider who would help her deliver her breech baby.
After meeting Merrily Daly and having an at-home vaginal birth for her second son, she knew she would continue to advocate for both breech and VBAC births for the continuity of her career.
Sonni began her path to midwifery with Merrily Daly, working as a doula and assistant in the home-birth scene on Maui.
As midwifery school continued, she relocated to Orlando, Florida, to work at a high-volume, nationally accredited birth center, Tree of Life Birth and Gynecology.
Sonni became a Certified Professional Midwife in March of 2024 and graduated from Southwest Wisconsin Technical College with her Associate of Science in Midwifery.
After 3.5 years at the birth center, Sonni joined the well-established home birth practice Full Circle Midwifery, where she served as a full-time midwife.
Currently, Sonni resides in Maui, where she offers concierge Midwifery services, in an act of full revolution and reunion with Merrily Daly, her original Elder and Mentor.

Sonni is an adventurer and a nature girl at heart. She lives a spiritually-centered life deeply rooted in the Earth and its cycles.
She enjoys practicing herbalism and wildcraft, and is knowledgeable in sustainable farming practices.
Sonni is a classically trained chef, and relishes curating wholesome mealtimes with friends.
On her off days, you can find her hiking, surfing, horseback riding, camping, foraging, and exploring with her two sons.
MERRILY DALY, RN, LM, CPM
Merrily is a highly experienced Licensed Midwife and Registered Nurse. She has practiced for over 31 years, mostly on the island of Maui.
Merrily was president of the Midwives Alliance of Hawai'i from 1994 to 1996 and in 2007-2008. She has attended over 3,500 births!
After witnessing the home birth of her niece in 1983, she felt a deep calling to midwifery. At the time, the tradition was fading, and a small group of physicians and a midwife were beginning to train a cohort of eight students—an effort to preserve and carry forward this vital lineage of care.
Merrily was fortunate to become part of the training!
Merrily and the cohort traveled to rural areas in Northern California to deliver babies at home over the course of two years. She was soon on her way to becoming a primary Midwife.
Merrily received her CPM accreditation in 1995.
Birth has been an incredible calling for Merrily, and she has served clients by travelling out of the country, as well as assisting home birth clients on Maui.
Merrily has lived in Hawai'i since 1976 and on Maui since 1984. She has maintained a thriving Midwifery Practice, Daly Birth Maternity Services, for many years.
As a world traveler, Merrily is adventurous and enjoys nature's beauty. She delights in learning and caring for her orchid-laden lanai and free-range chickens.
TAYLOR BERLIEN, LMT
Taylor is a Licensed Massage Therapist of twelve years.
After recognizing her gift of therapeutic touch, she attended and graduated from The Maui School of Therapeutic Massage.
Taylor specializes in Swedish & Lomi Lomi massage, and knows techniques for releasing rigid fascia, "deep release" for birth preparation, and gentle acupressure for welcoming labor.
Taylor is a mother of three and can be found catching south swells all summer.
